Greers Join Pachuca Project

Luke and Lindsay

LUKE & LINDSAY GREER and their two daughters, Bella and Olivia, are in process to become part of the Pachuca Project team. We are hopeful that they will move to Pachuca and join the church planting team by the middle of next month. Luke and Lindsay worked in Mexico City for one term and have just returned from finishing a masters program at Wheaton College. Their former team members took on other ministries in the States, and since that time Luke and Lindsay have prayed about getting involved in church planting. Fourteen Baptisms

baptism nov 2008

Sunday, November 30 turned out to be an exciting day at Jubilee. Fourteen people made their confessions in Christ and were baptized at the Jubilee church! Since the water park we usually use for baptisms was under construction, for the first time we baptized at the rented facility. A sister congregation in Mexico City lent us a portable baptistery which worked out fine for the baptisms. Several cell group leaders participated in the baptisms which came from five different cell groups of the Jubilee church. We were excited that Mauricio and … [Read more...]

Quesadilla Nights

Quesadillas

Quesadillas, ¡ricas quesadillas! After more than 25 years in missions and most of that in Mexico, you don’t always have the opportunity to do something new. Our cell decided to give sweat suits to a home for abandoned youth here in Pachuca. To pay for the sweat shirts the cell participated in two fund-raising projects. One was a raffle of Mary-Kay products and … [Read more...]

More than 40 at Jubilee Youth Retreat – 4 Baptized!

The Youth Zone at the Jubilee church has been working for close to three months on the youth retreat that was October 3-5. The youth sold candies and snack food on Sundays after church and also had a “slave sale” when the youth auctioned off work days to raise money for the expenses of the retreat. The weekend was a great blessing for 42 youth and leaders. They found that the retreat at a small hotel on the gulf coast was indeed a setting in which they could grow closer together as a group and also could deepen their walk with the Lord … [Read more...]

The official name of the city is Pachuca de Soto in honor of Deputy Manuel Fernando Soto, who was one of the founders of the state HISTORY Pre-Columbian Pachuca de Soto was inhabited by several indigenous groups including settlements connected with the Teotihuacán and Tula cultures. The LiNK Ministry Center

The University of Hidalgo

Mexico is one of the youngest countries in the world. Estimates say that 68% of the population is under 26 years of age. Ministries and outreaches to high schools, universities and young professionals are crucial to the future growth and health of the Christian church in Mexico. Therefore the Pachuca Project is proposing the formation of THE LiNK MINISTRY CENTER to focus in on this important demographic. The State University of Hidalgo (UAEH), located in Pachuca, is the largest university of Hidalgo -- with somewhere around 29,000 … [Read more...]
