The Youth Zone at the Jubilee church has been working for close to three months on the youth retreat that was October 3-5. The youth sold candies and snack food on Sundays after church and also had a “slave sale” when the youth auctioned off work days to raise money for the expenses of the retreat.
The weekend was a great blessing for 42 youth and leaders. They found that the retreat at a small hotel on the gulf coast was indeed a setting in which they could grow closer together as a group and also could deepen their walk with the Lord Jesus. Three young men and one young lady were baptized in the ocean.
There were worship times, teaching times and just plain fun times, including a sand castle building contest. The only problem was the buses that were contracted. The bus arrived about an hour late picking us up, and on the return it had transmission problems. But all returned to Pachuca blessed, and the leaders felt that most of the goals and vision of the retreat had been met.
