The Vision of the Pachuca Project is to have five dynamic cell churches in metro area of Pachuca. The second congregation, Jubilee Christian Church, began in February 2007. The Jubilee Church Planting Team has a wonderful mix of gifts and personalities that is participating in the Lord’s ministry to develop a loving and growing congregation in this dynamic Latin American city.

LUKE AND LINDSAY GREER
Luke and Lindsay Greer have been missionaries to Latin America since 2002 and joined Impacto Latino’s Pachuca Project in 2008. Currently, they serve in the Jubilee church plant — one of several plants in the Metro Pachuca area. They are part of the family cell (small group) ministry. Also, they serve with developing outreaches in a new area of Pachuca called “Providencia”. Luke also serves with the development of training for the Cell Pastors of the Jubilee church plant.

Luke and LindsayLUKE & LINDSAY GREER and their two daughters, Bella and Olivia, are in process to become part of the Pachuca Project team. We are hopeful that they will move to Pachuca and join the church planting team by the middle of next month. Luke and Lindsay worked in Mexico City for one term and have just returned from finishing a masters program at Wheaton College.

Their former team members took on other ministries in the States, and since that time Luke and Lindsay have prayed about getting involved in church planting. They very much wanted to participate with a team.

The Pachuca Project team invited the Greers to join in this project that continues to expand. Luke and Lindsay accepted and will interview with the IMPACTO Latino board in Indianapolis on November 15. They will begin their state-side transition in the months following as they begin to integrate with the Pachuca Project.

We are excited that this dedicated and loving couple will be part of the expanding work in Pachuca!

baptism nov 2008Sunday, November 30 turned out to be an exciting day at Jubilee. Fourteen people made their confessions in Christ and were baptized at the Jubilee church! Since the water park we usually use for baptisms was under construction, for the first time we baptized at the rented facility. A sister congregation in Mexico City lent us a portable baptistery which worked out fine for the baptisms. Several cell group leaders participated in the baptisms which came from five different cell groups of the Jubilee church. We were excited that Mauricio and Rosalia, a young couple we had been studying with, also made that decision and also were baptized.

After the baptisms, the church family celebrated together with a pitch-in dinner. Almost all of the 129 people present stayed to eat, visit and celebrate together this wonderful day.

Jubilee ended the year with 33 people baptized! Since its beginning in February 2007 Jubilee has seen 59 people make decisions to be baptized!
