Cell Pastors Retreat

Cell Pastors Retreat

On January 9, 10 the Jubilee held it’s first cell pastors’ retreat at a hotel in Tulangcingo, about 30 minutes from Pachuca. We were blessed that Alan Baumlein, administrative pastor and mission pastor at the Mt. Pleasant Christian Church Church of Greenwood, Indiana came for the weekend and presented the teaching at the retreat. Speaking about leadership, Alan gave three excellent sessions: The Leadership Stool, The Leadership Principles of Jesus and Identifying Your Leadership Style. All three sessions were great learning times.

Jorge Del Angel began the retreat with a great teaching on the difference of a leader and a boss. Eric Duggins ended the retreat with a presentation about the vision of the Jubilee and reviewing the expectations for the cell pastors of the cell ministry.

The cell ministry will begin again the week of January 12 after the three week Christmas break. Several cells saw changes in leadership and meeting places. Jubilee has 10 cells meeting in several colonias around Pachuca.

Providencia is an area southeast of Pachuca where a huge colonia has been built mostly with government housing. Small homes were sold to families with as little as $800 down. Some of these homes are being rented for as little as $80 a month. Other homes have been added to and small businesses have opened.

A family attending the Jubilee Church owns a large party room which has 8 small store fronts on the first floor. The store fronts and the party room are situated at one end of this colonia that has almost 40,000 people.

We have had our eye on this area for over 6 years. Four church families live in this area that is about three miles from the Jubilee Church.

Jubilee will be renting 2 of these store fronts to begin a community outreach project and provide a much needed meeting place for a new cell group (Aro de Amistad).

Please pray with us as we plan community services appropriate to the area and attend to the many families who have many children.

Excitement mounts as we clean up the new location and move in chairs and tables. As we are able, we will paint and put up signs and then hand out flyers in the area.

We ask you to join with us in this effort with your prayers as there are many needs, many broken families, many children needing attention and hope, but all needing a Savior.

We would like to thank the Mt. Pleasant Christian Church of Greenwood, Indiana who bought tables, chairs and storage cabinets for the Providencia center and made it possible to open the center on Friday, January 16 for the first cell meeting. 11 adults and 14 children participated in the first cell meeting. The leadership of Jubilee will plan several outreaches at the cell center which may include a food pantry, children’s homework center and other family services.
