The Greers
LUKE AND LINDSAY GREER
Missionaries to Latin America since 2002. Luke and Lindsay have a deep desire to see their mission work translate into truly indigenous discipleship to Jesus Christ. They joined the Pachuca Project in 2008.
Luke and Lindsay Greer were both born into Christian homes. Luke was born in Dodge City in 1978, but lived in Amarillo, Texas most of his life, and was baptized at church camp in the seventh grade. Lindsay was born in Houston in 1979, but lived in Dallas most of her life, and was baptized in her home church at the age of eight.
In high school, both Luke and Lindsay felt a pull on their hearts in to attend Bible college to learn more about pursuing full-time Christian service. In 1997 they met at Dallas Christian College, and they were married in 2000. College provided an ideal environment for training in various ministry fields, and for continued growth in their personal relationship with God. While students, they spent each summer serving in different internship contexts: inner-city outreach, youth ministry, and overseas missions. These experiences played a powerful role in their ministry direction and calling.
Upon graduation, they began serving on a mission team in the Mexico City area, where they still live and work today. Missionary service brought together several of Luke and Lindsay’s passions as urban ministry, leadership development, and cross-cultural ministry are all important aspects of life and work in Mexico.
Church planting, leading small group Bible studies, teaching at local churches and events, and developing discipleship curriculum have been primary ministry focuses. Also their two daughters, Isabella and Olivia, were born during their time in Mexico. Since 2007, after a furlough at Wheaton College Graduate School, Luke and Lindsay have been engaged in church planting in Pachuca, a community north of Mexico City.
Throughout their tenure in Mexico, Luke and Lindsay have developed a deeper passion to see mission work translate into truly indigenous discipleship to Jesus Christ expressed in growing churches.
